Madness Sets In
Across the towering castle walls
Walking to and fro
The King began to wonder how to save those below
The enemy was at the gates
Pounding night and day
Try as he might, they would not go away
His people lay dead
Strewn across the ground
The survivors stood screaming, madly for his crown
The insidious voice inside his head
Whispering for all its worth
Was convincing the king to open the gates and let the horde come forth
Confused and scared
It all made no sense
Between the voices he heard, and the messages he sent
With a mighty yell
And a crash of wooden bars
He threw open the castle gates with a scream of Huzzah
The enemy poured
Like water down a stream
And in the courtyard was heard many a scream
Deep in his chamber
Alone and facing guilt
The old King plunged his sword, deep into the hilt
