Moment’s Kisses (poem)
Now only moment’s kisses still remain
Where days adrift with dreaming had once danced
It seemed the world was laid out at our feet
And there was time enough to see it through
-
The air was scented with enchantment’s strain
Beyond beyond the wonders which we chanced
And when we held existence was complete
We lived a love the hands of heaven drew
-
Then came the dawn of sorrow’s bitter pain
When in our mirror stranger’s faces glanced
Within our souls was lie of our defeat
And from our eyes fell rain of lifetime’s dew
-
Our hearts with kisses moment now regain
For we were dreams which fantasies romanced
There for a time did pure perfection meet
And I was there to live it all with you
