The drudge of the week, the bliss of week's end
Monday is Mundane,
Tuesday's my blues day,
Wednesday's my hump day,
halfway to fun days,
On Thursday's I'm thirsty,
for Fridays to fly away....
till I'm spending my Saturday's
my oh, so much gladder days
with you....
On Sundays we'll snuggle
forgetting the troubles
of a work week that's soon coming due...
in a sweet loving blend
as true lovers and friends,
savoring each weekend's rendevous
From nine until five
I can barely survive,
as I run through this town in my car,
and when rush hour comes
I sit patiently numb
making no stops at stores or at bars
Don't need overtime pay,
Cause I don't want to stay,
I just head on back home
where you are.
Then from six till eleven
I'm in my own little heaven
Having supper with you
shared with glasses of wine,
then we watch some T.V.
until your winking at me
saying, "Honey don't
you think it's bedtime!"
I cherish our holidays...
offering me many ways
to spend hours
just sharing your love...
but even those breaks
and other days off we take..
always seems like
there's never enough.
Monday's a numb day,
Tuesday's a bum day,
Wednesday's just more of the same,
almost halfway done
still it's a shame,
Thursday's a cursed day,
and Fridays the first day
I can say that
I'm glad that it came...
Cause it brings Saturday,
my nothing matters day,
we sleep in and have breakfast at noon...
and then when Sunday's done
we end two days of fun
with some kisses
as we head to our room
sharing sweet love
before Monday's gloom.
