My Little Lily

My little Lily

Left me today

She was so beautiful

So sweet

So radiant

So kind

Her spirit could

Make you smile

Brighten your day

Hearing her pitter patter

Running away

Howling for fun

A little wolf

Her heart was so big

It filled up a room

In my arms

She fell to deep sleep

Her little body

Left me to weep

Lily was my love

She will be missed

Among the angels

She dances

By the stars

She is kissed

My beloved Lily died in my arms on June 27, 2012. Rest in peace my dear friend.

Surely lily was in no better place than in your arms to start a new journey... Pets, their loyalty unquestionable... Which is why we love them so... Thoughts go out with an appreciation for such a touching reflection of such a great friend.

Feeling sorry for the Lily, but... what actually happened to her? or was it a natural death?

How precious it is that we can express our thoughts of such events in our lives and share them.

Pets are members of a family that have such short life-span.. you try and love them with all you got and hope they take that into the next life... what a wonderful send off bless you and lilly :)

So sorry for the loss. We take them in and give them a home and they become such a part of our lives. The love they offer is pure and sweet. All they ask is to be loved in return. From your words it is easy to see Lily got all she asked for and more.

Hugs and Blessings from Canada

@ Hi The crazzykylex she died of old age. She was around 18 years old. I found her running on the street in 2003. She was a stray. She had developed alzheimers in the past year but was still functional so I didn't put her to sleep. It was a natural death. Thank you for your comment. :)

Poor little doggy. I had three kittens that snuck outside the house and when I finally found them I had to bury all three. Losing a pet is very sad.

Now you got me all weepy Caroline. So sorry to hear that and wonderful tribute to Lily. Don't think sad think of Lily up in Heaven's meadows running wild and free. Besides she'll always be with you and in your heart. One of my previous cats a wonderful fluffy girl cat died in my arms. I lasted three painful months and then we adopted Sid. But you know for quite a while I would hear cat thumps where no cat was and feel tail swishes against my legs and I knew it was her. Wishing you all the best at this sad time. God bless.

This is really sweet. My cat is named Lily and I think she will be leaving soon, she is 17 and eating little and getting so skinny. There are so many picture and memories with her, at least I will have that. Your memories will keep your Lily alive in your heart I know.

caroline, Such a sweet tribute to Lily, whose eyes are so beautiful and loving. It is a blessing that you were there to cradle her in your arms; I think that Lily could not have asked for anything more than to feel the depth and strength of your love, mingling with hers back to you, as she made life's final bow. Thank you for sharing these moments and feelings. Sharing.

Appreciatively, Stessily

carolinemd21, I had meant to mention that it's so endearing that the photos have "Lily" listed as the source, which tends to be interpreted as meaning the photographer or the website, i.e., whence came the image. In this case, you've given "source" a deeper meaning, for without Lily there would be no photograph. You have conveyed so much by those two words, source: Lily.

Appreciatively, Stessily

Thank you so much for your kind and heartfelt interpretation Stessily and for stopping by dear friend. :)

carolinemd21, I will be revisiting this sweet farewell to your deeply loved pet Lily often, as well as its predecessor, "Lily", in which you introduced this brave puppy to your readers. I am sharing both of them because I consider them to be among the most beautiful writings on those incomparably loving beings, who bless us with their love, wisdom, humor, and companionship, and who are known as pets or furry angels. Thank you for sharing Lily of the beautiful eyes. Sharing.

Appreciatively, Stessily
