My Childhood Days
I played on the beach,
Made castle with sand,
Then went to the sea,
Small bucket in my hand.
My parents and sister,
All they were there.
To ensure I was safe,
They took all the care.
I ran around on the sand,
My sister ran after.
It was a joyous moment,
Full of fun and laughter.
We left the seaside,
The Sun was about to set.
Father took me on his back,
Said ‘You are tired I bet.’
It was a pleasant ride,
Ice cream in my hand,
Mum carried my dirty shoes,
wet and covered with sand.
Soon we reached home,
Early dinner we had,
And off we went to bed,
Oh I was so glad !
Those beautiful days,
Still well I can see.
When I close my eyes,
They come so clear to me.
