Nothing Else Comes Close.

Sometimes when I think of you

A smile comes to crinkle my face

and pats me on the back

ever so gently

for being so lucky

to have someone as special as you.

And then a warmth

unlike any man created heat

fills my heart,

like the soft fur of a puppy

in the bed of my lap,

and I say to myself,

Oh, babe How i wish you were here....

And then there are times

when thoughts of you

cause a tear to slip gently

to the edge of my cheek

suspended like a jewel

on a golden chain of memories

linked side by side

in the span of my life....

And as it falls to my shirt

to be absorbed in the cloth

closest to my heart

I understand it was because

"I wish I'd Known You sooner,"

and I say to myself,

Oh, babe, it must be love...

nothing else even comes close.

Love this poem - thanks for sharing. The pain of loss or separation is so intense.
