ODE TO THE EDDLEMENS...by b. Malin

THE EDDLEMENS...

The "Eddlemens" came to be... during a Sunday morning Tryst with Lover Man and Me.

Rick and Judy were their names, that stuck so well in our Love Making Brains.

So perfect a pair were they...A Penthouse with an Ocean View.

Our Condo, near a Train that blew... a whistle or two.

They drove a Maserati and a Cadillac.

We arrived in a PT Cruiser...and that was that.

But on this particular morning...without any warning...

We became them.

Rick was handsome...Judy, a delight...

We carried their images into the night.

Come the next day, we were exhausted, but happy.

They said we were a delight...but THEY really had to leave.

For they had to be somewhere that very eve.

So we sadly said our good bys...while breathing a deep sigh.

But that didn't stop us...oh no...not for long...

For we invented the "DAYTIME Eddlemens" to tag along.

Whether it was down to the Beach...with the Sun shining Bright.

Or Picking up Sea Shells and other afternoon delights...

Or driving about in some quaint Florida town, with the Maserati's Top down.

The Eddlemen's were there... to tag along!

Can the Eddleman's be cloned? :-) I love this poem--it made me smile this night when sadness and "Eddlemanless" have reigned supreme. Too Good! DA

Brilliant! I like it! Can you invent a cousin to tag along as well? :)

Very witty. I like U* & Stephan, but not those two, but I will say they sure have guts.

& I like your poem, better then them!

Thanks Barb, good poem.

It is an interesting tack to take to invent a metaphor that is expected to be self explanatory.
