Life Can Sometimes Be as Empty as a Cape Cod Beach in the Off-season
Out of Sight. Out of Mind. So They Say
Out of sight, out of mind.
You'll forget her, they said.
She's gone and yet I find,
she's still inside my head.
You don't forget a face
carved into your mind
and drawn on your eyes,
so you can see ev'ry line.
The soft voice that she has.
The lips that I have kissed,
Their shadows linger like a
never ending morning mist.
Her long, soft, and silky hair,
a golden frame for her face.
No other images can
even begin to replace.
That old saying's only half right.
Now that she's gone I find:
That she's out of my sight,
and I am out of my mind.
