Philanthropy (A Limerick of Sorts)

Another "pop the top and can't stop"?

Philanthropist Giver

There once was a philanthropist giver,

whose castle sat above a wide river.

Each time it would rain,

one might hear him complain:

"My wealth I would give for a liver!"

[Cirrhosis of the liver can cost not just wealth, but a life.]

Great limerick, with an unusually serious note. Good one.

Shyron = Have you done one, too?

annart - There once was a lass named Ann.

of whom I'm her biggest fan.

She cooks using turmeric,

and knows a "Great limerick,

she'll write one when she can.

There once was a lass named Ann

who writes as often as she can.

She loves a good limerick,

can conjure one on a stick,

but not as well as her great fan. :))

A good one, but not so funny, as the ending has a serious touch.

There are so many things that really are more important than money and one of them above all else is health.

Gypsy Rose Lee - Another that is "more important than money" is the topic of most of your poems: love.

Health really is the best wealth, is it not?

aviannovice - I presume you are referring to "good health"? We always have our health, just sometimes it isn't up to par.

Interestingly we have all been given a promise of eternal health at no cost other than loving God and His Son, others as ourselves, and keeping the commandments of God. For some, however, even free the price seems too high
