Picking Up Where We Left Off

Keep Going

Getting things done

Listening to the news and people who touch my life

Realizing they are not me

Reaching ahead for my personal best

I can't control time

What I can do is use it to my advantage

Finding my best abilities

Practicing them as they please me

Seeing my weaknesses as a starting point

To go forward with an open mind and kind heart

Learning to be less strict on my own progress

Many times I have been snagged by my mistakes

Then they haunt me as if a ghost from my past

Tripping me up

Finding it harder to overcome

As the truth stares me in the face

Applying my new found confidence

To gain momentum

So each step of the way

I do now what I couldn't do before

I am ready

I am eagerly finding new approaches

To fine tune me into the person

Who I will become

Striving for excellence!? Your life's endeavors messages an encouragement never to cease at status quo. We have many similarities in practical pursuit of life. Thank you my friend.

Michael-Milec There are no limits to our imagination. I love poems for that reason. You can think deep and explore your feelings without hurting anyone. You aren't an expert just an explorer who can't wait to share his greatest discovery the human mind. The more he learns the more he discovers wonderful thoughts never before touched. Wishing you a life of good health and happiness. In the mean time a journey of unforgettable memories. Thank you for reading and giving back. Have a great night.

I love this resolve to pursue your own personal best and to notice, learn from and to move on from errors. It's so good, Michael.

Here are two of my favorite Michaels online.

By the way, I've just recently returned from the ranch again and this time, we got a new pump in to replace the malfunctioning one. So we left the troughs full or filling! So relieved and happy! Such good timing, too!

So I'm behind on my hub-reading. Still have a bunch of 'to-do' items on my list and still slow about getting them done. But I'm so grateful to be able to continue to take care of things which are my responsibility and some I need for my soul.

Nellieanna I am so relieved to see your post. I got worried that you may not be feeling well and haven't been on line eleven days. It's easy to know someone and think about them then when things in their life change you are left to wonder. Are they o.k. Did they move and if they did why didn't they say something. It's happy to know someone and then many different scenarios can happen. The minor to the major. Computer problems to lost of interest or they are just busy. To health issues and any sad 0utcomes. I do enjoy so many conversations that are just a wonderful array of sunshine. To me it's the littlest spray of water to a waterfall gushing and everything in between. Thank you for caring and explaining the good news. Did I ever tell you I love good news. Especially when it has been a long time coming. Like a rainbow after it rains there are so many feelings evolved but the high point is that it makes my day. Michael - Milec Your comments like Nellieanna's are special to me and have found ways to encourage and rise faster than helium. Soon off to a good nights sleep but I had to tell you how I felt. These are some of my many thoughts floating around my head just before bed. Shells

Big hugs! Thank you for the concern about me, Michael. Yes, we do wonder about people we know and care about when we don’t hear from them all of a sudden without notification.

You mention various things can come up suddenly in people’s lives. Sometimes they have barely had time to prepare for these things themselves. Preparations beforehand and follow-up afterwards can take up most of the time and thought, especially as one ages and everything takes us more time to do and requires more frequent ‘rest breaks’!

Also, - If there are less-than-good things to report, sometimes one may prefer to wait for better things to mention. As you say, when good news does come, it’s all the sweeter to learn of it!

You know, sometimes we just must accept a degree of uncertainty and give folks benefit of the doubt that they’re all right and doing what they must do when we don’t hear from them for awhile. We shouldn’t fret, but we do care and wonder.

So thank you for your welcoming me and my comments! Hugs and Shells.

Nellieanna I believe there is a reason for everything. Many things in my life I will never figure out. Know matter how hard I try. I do know I feel better telling people who have an impact on my life what they do without even trying. Too many people in the the world today complain about spilled milk. I for one have spilled a lot of milk in my lifetime and I try to be more careful and wonder if it's o.k for the cat to drink, or maybe milk is a good floor cleaner, a good moisturizer. I am sure spilled milk will be used for something we never thought of. I never complain I know my time is limited so I want to maximize my love for life and the way to do that is through creativity and imagination. I know we all have lives outside of the HubPages. I think of it more like a James Bond movie and I am sure the action and excitement is non stop. I also think are lives are part comedy/ part who done it. So I am always thinking of where will our future take us and how lovely the adventure ride is. The tough part is all rides must end so another ride begins. I know it will happen for now I yell, scream and kick for joy. There are so many people in the world that yell and scream for all the wrong reasons. It's their life and maybe some day they may see life can be better at any moment just by changing our thoughts. What I am trying to say I am not getting any younger. So the time I have I value and those that I am honored to share my time with I am very thankful. I believe we all need space that's why the moon is so far away. Secretly I travel to the moon daily. Watching those who are coming back as I am going there and see how their expressions change. When I am coming back I am more excited than when I went. I see so many that are so excited to go and lose all the fun along the way. Can't they see it's all about the journey not the destination. Have a beautiful night and when you make an appearance I will be happy like when Shirley Temple would sing. Maybe just a little out of tune. All fun and games until someone gets hurt. I think it should be all fun and games if we want to at anytime. All it takes is two people. Have a great night.

Yes, Michael. “All things work together for those who love the Lord,” is a scripture with a religious message, which states that there is a reason for everything,. It is also true that there are reasons in the variables in all life situations, though they’re not always obvious and many simply relate to practical truths at work. If wonderful, they generated their own wonderful results. The scripture clarifies that it’s the right motives which generate their own good results. Obviously, the reverse is true. Wrong motives generate poor results.

O, yes. Spilled milk is a ‘done deal’. So, wipe up the mess and move on! Learn from it to be more careful, then get over it and move past the regret. Crying doesn't change it or fix it.

Yes, our earthly lives are time-limited. But even in the far side of ourlater years, each new day brings a brand-new ‘whole-other’ day right here to be lives. Really, we can only live it one day at a time from our first day to our last day, so the life in progress is in each day, neither the day(s) before it or following it. It's the same at every age of life.

I’m smiling, remembering that Shirley Temple was the darling child star when I was little and I was just 4 years younger than Shirley. I felt her influence. I had a Shirley Temple doll. My sister bought me Shirley Temple brand dresses. I sang her song, “On The Good Ship Lollipop”. I had Shirley Temple curls and sometimes kids where Mother and I went would jump up and down, point at me and shout, “Shirley Temple”! haha

Well, enough of that reminiscing. I agree that it’s the journey, not the destination, that make it LIFE. These days, there is much rushing to get places, then rushing to get things over with when ‘there’, only to rush off to some other unfulfilling destination, - while not noticing the flowers along the way or the stars above them.

Regarding having‘all fun and games until someone gets hurt’. Unless one’s pursuit of happiness is deliberately focused on hurting others, one cannot anticipate others’ responses or sculpt one’s own choices to try to fit all theirs. One would lose one's own identity trying and still someone would take offense or feel hurt because it wasn't what they want. Each person has a responsibility for his/her own 'giving benefit of doubt' OR ‘taking offense’ responses and some of each of those will surely happen in response to the multitude of life's situations which one is involved. If offense is done deliberately or casually and knowingly with no regard, that is something else, of course.
