Poem - Emerged from Dawn
The bud at dawn
Was watered by the weeds
With muddy water and sharp needles.
Delicate as it was,
It curled and almost withered.
A glowing ball appeared
From the dark horizon;
And, yes, it was the sun.
It showered a bundle of blessings
To those who are deserving
And roasted the proud ones
with blistering heat.
The bud was given a gift,
A framework to hold her tight
So that she could stand.
For so long, it stood, stood high,
Saying goodbye to the ‘panel of judges’.
