Prose - Living Apart From My Heart
I miss you
As soon as we part
Because with you
I leave my heart
Until we meet again
When I arrive
You run to me
Floating on your love
For your Daddy
Until I leave again
Do you think about me
As I do you?
Do you wonder what I do?
I wonder about you too
Until we meet again
You wear feathers
And a smile
You sing songs
And dance for a while
Until I leave again
You live your life
While I wait
I go to work
And stay too late
Until we meet again
You ask me questions
And sometimes twice
Everything is so confusing
But you listen to my advice
Until I leave again
Then I wonder
Will she remember
How happy she makes me
And the things I said to her?
Until we meet again
We have a simple lunch
Just she and I
With nothing but birds
Singing in the sky
Until I leave again
I sleep in another house
With her face in my mind's sight
I wonder if she’s scared
Without Daddy there in the night
Until I arrive again
I say I’m sorry
It’s hard to tell her why
She forgives me
And tells me she knows I try
Until I leave again
Sometimes I cry
Because it makes me upset
I try not to think about it
But the tears never forget
Until I arrive again
One day you’ll be grown
And I’ll be in the twilight
I hope you will know
How you brightened my night
Until I leave again
