Prose - The Treasure I Discovered
It was with me
All along
Existing
But numb
Why?
Today I know
What I could have been
Long ago
It took so long
But it happened
I discovered my treasure
For my life
Finally
Residing within me
As it had been
Waiting for me
To open my eyes
And see
My true self
What about you?
Do you know?
Why not?
To think
And feel
And then reach out
To touch
Another's world
And watch
As they blossom
And smile
To walk
Unencumbered
By life
And greed
Nothing
But a pair of jeans
And your mind
To hear music
In the wind
To feel so much
With only open eyes
Freely existing
Wherever you are
With white walls
Or blue depths
You have control
Take it
Every moment
Is a lifetime
Slowing time
Never needing to look
Because the moment
Is always yours
Even when it is not
Because you learn
From another’s moment
And then you share
And pass on
What you know
Even if you are silent
With but a smile
And soft eyes
For your nameless friend
A human
Who wants to know
What you know
Who wants to live
The way you live
Give it to them
Set them free
As you set yourself free
And watch as their ship
Sails
To the promise
For them to keep
Their promise
Not yours
Because your promise
Is not theirs
But you showed them
How to find themselves
And now
You
Are their friend
Because with you
They can be who they are
