Revenge - The Art of Getting Even

Updated on November 17, 2015

Revenge is almost as old as man is himself, and it's best when served cold. What's even better is when the victim has no idea whatsoever $6 what is about to happen. Where I work it's not exactly a very good idea to play a prank on another co-worker, because almost certainly there will be some form of retaliation.

I've seen just about every single possible scenario played out in the world of pranks at work. Like when someone's lock on their locker is permanently super glued shut, and they are late reporting to work because of it. So they retaliate, and get their revenge by pouring axle grease in the supposed perpetrator's work boots. This way when the victim is dressing up for work they have a big surprise waiting on them when they put their boots on. This can be a big problem especially if the wrong person's boots are filled up with axle grease.

The revenge for such pranks can be even more bitter sweet when a little bit of time, effort, and planning are put forth into the act. The more time and planning, then the better the act of revenge and getting even. It even gets better when a group of people get together, and put all of their minds towards this goal. The combination of all three of these ingredients were used in this story's act of revenge, and you just have to love it when a plan comes together.

It all began one day with a co-worker deciding that it would be funny to unplug another co-worker's piece of equipment. It may have sounded like a good idea at the time, but it took the poor victim a very long time to figure out exactly what was going on. Actually they never were able to figure it out on their own, and someone else who fell victim to the same prank earlier told them what the problem was. By the time he finally learned that his equipment had been unplugged, he was rather mad and really behind on his job. So our innocent victim, and I'm rather cautious in using the word innocent, declared that he can play games too, and thus the wheels began to turn on getting even and a pay back.

So with the assistance of his eager buddies they developed an elaborate, and brilliant plan for revenge like no other. After several long group discussions they all decided that they would sell their co-worker's car without his permission. Not just any car, but the car that he was currently driving to work.

So they all split up and did some research. When finished they had the victims cell phone number, vehicle specifications along with the mileage, and a photograph of the car while he was filling up at a gas station. Armed with all of this valuable information they proceeded to take an ad out on Craigslist.

They were all very careful, and covered all of their bases when they wrote the advertisement on Craigslist. Included in the reason for selling the 2007 Mercedes Benz was that they simply wanted the pay off price, which was well below the blue book value, because of coming off of a bad and painful relationship. They even decided to throw in a free tank of gasoline with the purchase. The most challenging part of this entire project was getting the victim's cell phone number, but after jumping through a few hurdles, they finally got that as well.

The ad was an instant overnight success once it hit the Internet, and there was an enormous amount of calls coming in all at once. Interest in the Mercedes Benz never seemed to slow down or dwindle, and the intended victim's cell phone literally blew up. The revenge was bitter sweet for everyone involved except the victim.

However even though the victim of this prank may not be the sharpest tack in the box, all things eventually come to their inevitable end as did this prank. He really didn't understand why all of this was happening until a little bird leaked out the information, and told him. So at that point after the discovery he called Craigslist, and had them flag the ad.

What comes around goes around, and now everybody is bracing for round three of this prank, and the ultimate pay back. One things for sure in the world of revenge, and that is with the art of getting even it's always required to top what was done to you. So stay tuned for more news on the upcoming part three of this prank - "Pay back for the revenge of the prank".
