Running On Empty
When Will The Fumes Run Out
Sometimes it seems we don't have a choice
We push all day to do one more thing
We are pressed for time and have certain things in our minds we want to finish
It could be doing yard work before it rains
Trying to read one more chapter in a book when your eyes are tired
Eating up leftovers in the fridge before we have to throw them out
Going to see someone in the hospital even though you are busy
Getting up after four hours sleep and going to work
Doing different chores around the house when you could be doing so many other fun and exciting things
Finally throwing away all the junk mail that keeps piling up
Going to the gym for a workout when you just want to go home after a day at work
Staying up later than you expected because your mind has so many thoughts it wants to say
Helping someone else out in work when your job is done and you could just leave
Cleaning out your draws in your bureau when you are the only one that sees it
Holding on to a thought and making it happen even after the excitement has worn off
Reaching for a goal that no one else can see
Believing in your heart what is right and trying to make that notion come to life
I have to stop and get some food that willl give me the energy to push on
I have to go and get some shut eye when the only thought that comes into my mind is sleep
Letting my dreams come alive when I close my eyes so I can be one step closer to living the life I want to live
