Strong in Spirit
Beneath a most powerful, gnarled of limb, Oak tree,
Whose branches stretch, reach into a gentle blue sky.
We each stand together, just as we did in times of old,
As our emboldened spirits seek to lift us, away to fly.
We, who are not to be held by old sturdy roots, ingrained,
Plant our own feet on a foreign soil, it to be well attained.
Exploring new heights, as in our inward needs to succeed,
Dashing forever onward, into the unknown abyss, in deed.
Strongest of spirit, souls to be so fulfilled and to grow more,
Every child of God, created, dancing upon a foreign shore.
There to find further knowledge, increase our own fine gains,
Assured, a sun does rise, to set, forests nurtured by the rains.
Pressing forever onward, always new knowledge, to enhance,
Each mother's child, followers in faith, not put here by chance.
Looking to the very heavens for answers, like the oak, do reach,
Minds of increasing intelligence, as of our own creator beseech.
