The Answer To Life- Poem by Rebecca Wood

The Answer To Life

I wrote this poem out of anger and confusion of what our society has become. My anger comes from the absence of justice when it is needed. My confusion comes from seeing criminals, murderes, and thieves living on high grounds while good natured people struggle to keep there head above water. This is my output on my own questioning.

What is life

Is it a breath

Is it a wife

Why can life be so short

Is it because we rush until we're done

Or is it how we are judged by the court

Why are some rich in life and some poor

Is it because we're pretty in just the right city

Or is it because we went through the wrong door

Why do some care for others while some don't at all

Were they just ment to love with all they have

Or do they hate because no one was there when they'd fall

Why do some take their life before their time

Is it because they have nothing to live for

Or they have nothing to live with, not even a dime

What is the meaning of life

Is it to live and die

Or to do what's right and hope to survive

If you are reading this to find an answer

Well, I have one....

There is none.

Poetic Fool, thank you, and I honestly think that there are multiple answers to life but only one each belong to everybodies own minds. We are all in control of our own decisions, no one can control our actions.

Nefarious_Misery, I'm glad I'm not the only one with these thoughts and questions.

This is a genuine, questioning, probing poem. We all hope there is a meaning and purpose to our existence. "There is none" is certainly a valid option. I've experienced enough of life to be uncertain myself. Thanks for sharing.

I can relate to everything you wrote here, that there are many questions and very few true answers in life. I have also written several poems on this topic. EDucation being one of my favorites.

Voted up and beautiful.

Nice job, Rebecca. FYI I grew up in South Bend, Inidana, so can relate. Best wishes!
