The Cosmos (Inspirational Poetry)
Perhaps thirteen Billion years ago, a great explosion, that may have occurred,
"The Big Bang", as it was to be called, and this for lack of more explicit words.
Science...astronomy, in particular, all agreed, thus the solution was now decreed,
The origin of the universe, as ours to lead, in this, new exploration could proceed.
Research revealed in this grandest view, and perhaps no creator for me and you,
Many to say a god did not ever exist, despite most religious sects, theirs to persist.
How could just one maker take care of all, Make the large so large, small so small,
Those confirmed in their faith and resolved to be so, this odd notion, was to resist.
One small matter that many might ignore, in this fine theory, there is so much more,
The ignition of the fuse, that the explosion had to have, greater in depth, is in store.
What, or who provided the spark, to have left a mark, and to have existed before,
Did they soar in space, have a human face, stand anew, on some distant shore?
Every fire requires heat, a flame, its igniter, a name, perhaps a god, as the same,
Should we discredit, or shun, what may have begun, of all that is, or how we came?
Could not God, be benefactor, our origin, the celestial spirit, how all was to begin,
Good begets good, evil that of sin, in our own human compassion, of it all, is kin.
As humanity struggles with life on earth, let us take a moment to consider our birth,
The same creator who granted existence provides all creatures a fond subsistence.
Being species, many light years in space, a benefactor began us, the human race,
Walking the earth, its value of great worth, beyond infinity of a cosmos, in our place.
