The Man Who Forgot Time

They asked, “Do you want to buy a watch?”
He said, “Can you tell me what for?”
They said, “It will look good on your arm!”
He said, “Time is something I ignore”

They asked, “When will you arrive?”
He said, “It depends on when I leave”
They asked, “Why won’t you tell us?”
He said, “Because I’d rather not deceive”

With no place to go and all day to get there
Killing time is the only way to live
He gave up time to bring his soul near
And to his contentment he was able to give

You can’t push a man who doesn’t feel urgency
You can’t stress a man who embraces tranquility
When you trade ambition for the open road
You begin to live by a different code

They asked, “Where are you going?”
He said, “I'm going to follow the sparrow”
They asked, “Will we see you again?”
He said, “The ground will never meet the arrow ”

He’s man with no place to go and all day to get there
For him keeping time is no way to live
When he gave up time he drew his soul near
And to his heart’s content he was able to give

Thank ya'll. I wrote this for a man I work with who rides Harley's and when you ask him how's it going, he say's, "Lot's of good stuff!" So this is for him and for Captain America....

One of the best you've ever done. Never wore a watch (many gifts never worn!). Had to break down and try when in sales--I was late for too many apts. Strange thing: I always "shorted" them out. Watches, you see, were never meant for me.
