The Ocean, Deep
What secrets held beneath the seas, in depths of oceans' deeps,
old pirate's days beneath the waves, of gold doubloons, it keeps?
The answers held, to questions asked, over ages, from long ago,
Someday revealed, exposed the truth, an understanding to show.
As each rolling wave and thundering surf, to wash upon the shore,
the coming tide, on broad arms to ride, its treasures to then restore.
While blue fish swim in deepening realms, that wash over reefs of life,
great sharks prowl the beaches, close, with teeth as sharp as a knife.
Sea gulls fly free in lofty heights, their shrilling calls, to greet the day,
While cotton fluffs of errant clouds float lazily, in windy skies, to stray.
A lone boat's silhouette stands erect, its billowing sail, a distant speck,
Across a glass smooth scene, the sunlight, a sparkling sheen to reflect.
Over eons and through uncounted days, the sea, has bathed the earth,
Its precious drops, each a vital need, for life's seeding and all its worth.,
Beneath the sun and a moon, both play a part, in the fine ocean's ways,
The origin of man, we must understand, so that we may live all our days.
Care and preservation, by human kind, an utmost charge, to be our own,
The vast seas that cover this world, depend upon the seeds that are sewn.
Each one who walks upon this land, must look to the oceans, for our lives,
Its sanctity, in well deserved respect, to be revered, so that each one thrives.
