The Price Of Orders That Destroy.

The price of the orders that destroyed.

When the colonel

was held captive

by his own death,

it's ravenous face revealed

all the men he

had sacrificed to it

over the years

of his commands

in the name of

some long lost cause.

Deep in the black orbs

of that hooded countenance

he saw what each fallen

soldier could have been,

and what they could have done.

unfortunately he was shown that

one of them was to be a doctor

who would have gone to med school

and then entered research

and studied oncology cultures

that would have led him to

having found the cure for

the cancer that had eaten away

almost all of

the good colonels

prostrate and colon.

Thus the colonel

sent to death

a man who in the future

would have Instituted

his salvation

and  so he was consumed

that evening gasping

his last breath

through  the stench

of his own bowels

and then joining the ranks

of all who had gone before him
