The Sound Of Distraction
Let It In
A noise that I normally hear
Now bothers me to great lengths
The t.v. with it's persistent chatter
I look away but each vibration creates frustration
Unable to block my ears
As my eyes fill up with tears
I think of a solution
Turning off the boob tube is not an option
Leaving to go in another room is out of the question
I have thought long and hard
To my surprise
I found out I can not run and hide
I must face my fears as they confront me
Looking them eye to eye
Now I am reassured that my decision is not to compromise
To instead accept all that I hear is sweet music to the ear
Being the one
To listen to the first sound when it became heard
Over the radio waves
What a thrill
Now having a new perspective
It's o.k.
I can do both
Intergrading them in the mix
Like a musician who blends
Music with words
Creating magic the world has never seen
