The Wonder of it All
When I consider all life's many lies:
The famine, the hatred, the cruelty.
I only reconsider what is good
As I search the wonder in a child's eyes.
When I cry for justice, for peace and love.
The voices of many joined go unheard.
I only reconsider what is good
As I ponder the wonder up above.
When I see the violence I can't flee.
When the defenseless scream for it to end.
I only reconsider what is good
As I gaze on the wonder of a tree.
When I feel my prayers all go unheard.
No higher power surely can exist.
I only reconsider what is good
As I see all the wonder of a bird.
When hope seems gone for all humanity,
When faith becomes something I do not know.
I only reconsider what is good
As I realize the wonder of me.
