The eagle - poem about birds
The Eagle is a poem about this magnificent bird that never ceases to amaze me. I get to watch the spotted India Eagle from my little garden, the way they glide and swoop sets them in a class apart. They are so singular in nature, the pigeons are always flapping and noisy while these elegant eagles seem to do what they do, with style and grace. They seem to be masters of the sky, ruling and reigning over them, with no one to contend. This bird reminds me of the free spirit of man that is un-tamable and indomitable. In my own way I am like one of these, indomitable in spirit.. nothing pulls me down or beats me down...my resilience is my greatest strength. I would love to glide like an eagle someday... it would be good to take a peek Earthward!
The eagle
I watch you glide,
and soar high in the air,
heart filled with pride,
and not a care!
No flapping and flailing,
just grace in flight,
smartly sailing,
against the skylight!
With your sharp vision
you spy your prey,
swoop down with a mission
and speed away!
With talons strong,
you hold on,
until you are ready,
to rip your booty!
With the strength of your beak,
you tear up the meek,
with the power of your wings,
you cast your spell on earthlings!
Merciless predator,
Elegant dazzler,
Indomitable despot,
magnificent free spirit!
The skies belong to you,
reign on without end,
rule and subdue,
there is none to contend!
