My darling I can’t see you anymore

I know it’s hard but try to understand

The love we shared was getting out of hand

Please trust it’s only you that I adore

I know this isn’t future we had planned

Or part of heartfelt promise that we swore

And tear filled nights will follow many more

Yet I dreamt vision of you much more grand

I dreamt that I was standing in your way

Tell me career and studies didn’t slow

I dreamt that I was leading you astray

Tell me I didn’t stifle will to grow

Until I am much better than today
