The Sun Now Sets (poem)
The sun now sets on yesterday
Tomorrow’s dream aren’t far away
Another field where lovers stray
Awaits to hear what flowers say
-
Each kiss became a memory
A heartbeat for our mystery
So bound we faced our destiny
With only our two arms to flee
-
And so we took each yesterday
Thus fashioned our own mystery
And took our place in destiny
I saw them kiss the world would say
-
Was it real this memory
Which hearts of lovers took away
Mid moonbeams with no place to stray
And longing lips no cause to flee
-
Then jealous time did come to say
All that you had for now must stray
All but our love it took away
The sun now sets on yesterday
