They Might Catch You (poem)
Run or they might catch you
Run or face some mischief once begun
Run and shut that timeless door behind you
Run and live the fate which you have won
-
Cowering behind curtain drawn window
Towering over each silenced regret
Scouring journals of nothing
Showering in meaningless answers
-
Hide or they might find you
Hide or face a person brushed aside
Hide and pull your covers around you
Hide and toss your mirrors far outside
-
Cuddle in dark corner which time aged
Muddle in the minutes cast away
Huddle in this person which you made
Fuddle in formless fake reasons
-
Run or they will catch you
Hide or you’ll be caught up in their tide
Run and still they dauntlessly pursue you
Hide and still your dreams find ways inside
