Tribute to a Hummingbird
Such a colorful bird, the Humming bird, as perpetually your wings are in motion,
You flit and fly all about, from flower to flower, its nectar to devour, is your notion.
As you find the petals that you seek, you follow your nose, a sharply pointed beak,
Flying forward, back, all sweets do track, spreading pollen, never a lack, to streak.
Busying yourself from hour to hour, all colorful plants are surprised by a shower,
As you explore every garden, feast upon treats, onward you go, bower to bower.
At the start of each day, ready to work, you're very sight, gives our moods a perk.
Not a small trifle would you ever to shirk, as trying to follow you, drives us besirk.
As you finally find a time to rest, it must be so hard, as you're so full of zest,
Buzzing all around with your humming bird sound, and to fulfill every quest.
Our little friend, best regards to you we do extend, our envy, we do confess.
When watching your flight, is such a delight, a nice treat, as we're so blessed.
