Twenties

I thank Heavenly Papa for keeping me safe and giving me life :) I have only asked Jesus to make me a blessing to others and I'm just glad to know that in little ways I have been that :)

Yesterday I went to see grannies and grandpas at the Elders' Home

Now come to think of it I was only twenty when I first visited The Home

I was introduced to them by the first missionary couple I got to know

The Lady who inspired me and in her actions, the love of Jesus she showed.

I wasn't that comfortable in talking, but all I did was listen to them

I was encouraged to know that my visits made them happy

Once I was a bit sad, some grannies spoke to my sister more than me

But later realized they just miss their small grand kids.

So I used to take her whenever she was able just to make them smile

You just meet so many different characters, so many inspirations

Real life experiences, how to live remembering the good things

Hold onto the cherished memories, simply live by grace of Jesus Christ.

I spent a lot of time with granny Elsie whom I didn't like at first

She was the one who first encouraged me to read my poems to her

For a grandma at her age, she had an awesome memory

She recited Shakespeare and french poetry.

She was a dancing teacher who later had arthritis

She was bed-ridden shared the room with Granny Pinto

She was feeling afraid of darkness after the light was switched off

And her appreciative attitude towards the helpers were wonderful.

A spinster who had worked as a secretary who loved her cats

She was a nice lady who also had listened and encouraged my poetry

Maybe that's how I found some courage to improve my spoken skills.

Then there was Mrs.Cook who was a Doctor's wife

Seems to enjoy a lot of attention and missed her grand child

Who was weak and terribly homesick all the time

Who was stubborn just like a small child.

Granny Florence was a teacher of English

Who celebrated the good times she had with her husband

In aches and in pains she shared her wisdom

She was very supportive as she said I should publish my poetry.

That's it I guess, after she passed away with cancer

I couldn't really handle the sadness due to emotional closeness

So now I tend to visit once in a blue moon whenever I miss them

But I ask Jesus to keep them safe and happy until they reach Heavenly Home.

The Tamil lady who was the Matron back then is a member now

She's still healthy, quick and keeps running up and down

There maybe disagreements yet she spreads her love

Initiates in doing things for others out of respect and love.

She's a very creative talented lady who had touched so many lives

As she visits the Prisons to share her knowledge of arts and crafts

I remember even with Granny Florence, she used to visit Daisy Vittachi exhibitions

She enjoys the company of the talented lady who plays different roles in her stories.

Then there's another lady who is excellent in doing so many sceneries in yarn

Even making cards to so many she had known for long

She just misses her children and grandchildren

A child of God who is a good friend to the Tamil Matron.

There's a sweet grandma who doesn't even have her teeth

Who once acted to a song in a day they celebrated their Home Anniversary

Who always shows her photos to whoever visits her

She lives to pray for her children and grand children.

Finally I think the church that looks after the sick and lonely

Even has a children's orphanage that nourishes the babies

So wonderful and kind who lives by grace

Make their lives comfortable each day as they give God their praise.

Flesh is flesh at the same time dead

So I must lay down my body for the inner man to live again

I embraced 'Life', the Jesus Christ

I chose to be 'Born Again' and live a life with the Holy Spirit.

Whatever the denomination you may belong to you're His church

Even we may not agree on docrine, still we can exalt Jesus

So let's share the Good News of repentance and remission of sins

As one family, let's enjoy the fellowship with Jesus.

Those who were martyred lived in Christ and died to gain

As Heaven is far better than the nicest place in earthly heaven

Jesus Christ who lit their hearts with passion for the lost

Declared to the world that Jesus Christ is the Saviour for the Lost.

'The Second Coming of Jesus Christ' is my blessed hope

Accepting Jesus Christ would be a great choice if you don't want to mope

Since Hell the Hedes is created for the devil and his demons

It's not meant for men, but sin has no excuse.

Hell is like a jail, a holding place of fire and torment

But the Lake of Burning Sulfur is after the final judgement

It's the second death and no escape

So don't refuse or deny Jesus, from that if you want to escape.

I'm saved by the Grace through Faith

A living corpse who heard Jesus' voice only in His chosen hour before death

I draw energy from His word of comfort and hope

I was 'Born Again' only when I was baptized with fire and the Spirit of hope.

Yes, I love my family and peace of mind more than anything

But, I love Jesus Christ more than myself as He's my everything

Pleasing Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father is my joy

God's mercy, compassion, peace and love is what I mostly enjoy.

In my heart I believe God raised Jesus from the dead

I confess that Jesus is my Lord and Saviour by faith

In the immersion of water baptism I showed my inner self

I declared my decision to the whole world in my new self.

Jesus defeated sin, devil and all the powers of darkness

He was raised with the resurrection power of boldness

I was buried as I plunged myself in the water

Now I'm a new creation as I belong to the heavenly creator.

In the Holy Spirit my old sinful ways are done

I don't live a life of secrecy and I walk with Jesus His Son

When I was an infant I was dedicated by sprinkling water

I was raised as a Catholic blessed with Holy Water.

Yes, I'm a 'Born Again Christian' who understand baptism

Even Jesus was dedicated as an infant who later had water baptism

To be born from above, having the Heavenly image stamped on me

As I submitted to the Living Water, the fire of the Holy Spirit came upon me.

The Grace of the Spirit is free, powerful, sovereign and irresistible

He throws down the corruptions of man's heart, Satan and Hell

So, how can a small baby understand all of these?

Helping a child to grow in Jesus Christ is one of my priorities.

Anointing with the oil of the Holy Spirit is dedication and concecration to God

My heart must be right before I recieve healing from God

Remember that prayer of faith brings healing and not the oil

I believe interceding for others before God heal them to be well.

Jesus shed His blood to save my Spirit from sin

Jesus' body was broken to provide healing

As I celebrate His sacrifice and partake in His Holy Communion

I praise and worship the victory of Jesus' redemption.

Jesus is the Healer, I'm His believer, the instrument

There aren't unimportant work in the ministry of Christ

To heal the sick, to recieve the Holy Spirit and before commiting to serve

To confirm, impart gifts and blessings only lay hands when it's time to serve.

So each ordinance is a physical manifestation of a spiritual grace

I pray to God with reveranance and not with an attitude of disgrace

These God given methods help me to practice my faith

As Jesus Christ is for life until my last breath.
