Two Hens in the Henhouse
Two hens in the hen house
don't usually fly.
For the rooster's affections
they ceaselessly vie.
Feathers stay ruffled,
The hens peck and scratch,
Both are determined
his affections to catch.
The rooster convinced
of his charming allure...
Struts all about, his
conquest quite sure.
Though the hens cluck and clatter
to compete for first place,
both preen and prance
in hot rooster chase,
The confident rooster
each morn crows, not shy
cause he knows that two hens
in the hen house don't fly.
