I walk upon these hallowed grounds in awe,

As towering citadels dwarf my very being.

Gazing upon names chiseled above granite porticos,

Names of learned men and women who lay the foundations upon which, these bastions of knowledge were erected.

Where long ago, paths were forged, and now walk the young,

To pursue knowledge and wisdom passed from one generation to the next

I walk upon these hallowed grounds and greet bright and eager eyes.

Eyes, drinking in their surroundings with wonder and amazement.

Not seeing these paths as boulevards of antiquity, but as highways of destiny.

They gaze upon the edifices of aged knowledge as depots of promise and fulfillment.

Our paths cross upon these hollowed grounds, those of youth and I whose youth fades.

We witness this holy place in contrast.

The young see new beginnings, while I have only fond memories of by gone days.

Young voices sing the birth of dreams. I can only whisper in holy reverence.

The paths of ancient wisdom and youthful zeal meet upon these hallowed grounds, just as they should.

For one generation must pass the torch of knowledge to the next, lest there be no one to fill these mighty strongholds.

So, to the young and seeking, I leave these hallowed grounds.

Assured, that in their hands, these great citadels will remain strong, these paths straight and true.

Confident in knowing, the light of knowledge will continue to brightly burn.

As it leads, yet another generation, toward the ancient wisdom of today.

Upon these hallowed grounds.

What an awesome place to grow up! I love the campus; the very air is charged with inspiration. You can't help but feel the melding of history with vision, perhaps that's just that Capstone Tradition.

I keep in touch with Caleb, in fact I tried to contact him the day I was there and wrote this. He was busy, as college boys will be. ;O)
