What Does It Mean To Share ?

When growing up as early as I can remember

I was told to share

Let someone else play with something you have and they might let you do the same

Everyone who shares is so much better off

Not to share is to be selfish and you don't want to be like that

So I have understood and respected the unwritten rules of life

I was the youngest of four boys and often I had hand me downs

To me it just seemed cool to have what my older brothers had

I never cared if it was new

I thought I was lucky to borrow it

I always took care of what I used and expected others to do the same with my things

Sometimes I found it was far from the truth

People want to borrow what you have but don't respect what you have

Why would someone not take care of something that they borrowed ?

They wouldn't be able to use it if it wasn't for you ?

It is no use to you at the moment why not let them borrow it

But when you get it back and it is broke

I say it wasn't that way when you got it

Sure it was

It is my word against yours

This is silly

So next time I won't let you borrow it

O.k. with me

Now I have to pay to get it fixed

It is not right

Then my mother said to me

I wouldn't of let them borrow it in the beginning

What ?

You are changing the rules after forty years

You can't do that

You taught me right

Why weren't other people taught the same way

I don't understand

I don't think I will never understand

I don't care if it is a book,a pen,tools,car,clothes etc..

A world without sharing is a world without caring

I was brought up to be better than that

So those who share please repect the other persons wishes

 They let you borrow what was theirs and still is theirs

Use it like it's your own

This might be the reason you don't have one

Just a friend telling a friend

Sharing is fun and should be done

This is not a world where everyone must have their own of everything

It is a world where we can all share and enjoy much more pleasure than I could ever dream
