What Precious Child ( a poem of greatest inspiration)
What precious child may this one be, wearing Joseph's coat of many colors,
Born in the mountains of Tennessee, just one of many sisters and brothers?
Just a sweet babe spreading the gospel well, and she, in her beautiful attire,
A voice as pure as notes from on high, and to all who hear, may so inspire!
Raised up in a big family of many, with love as their fortitude, an only way of life,
Overcame the many pangs of hunger and strains, defeating the worst of all strife.
Powered by a mother's warmest care, became a champion of all's musical delight,
Spreading a special music all across the land, giving it her best, with all her might.
She serves the world as a finest example, of what the human spirit may so do,
Capturing the hearts of all people, young and old, by living her life, so very true.
Little doll, just what a good girl are you, with golden hair, as the angels from above,
Giving great hope in your faith, rare talented songs, the essence of human love.
That special coat of colors, each one so sewn, hands crafting in God's own grace,
Shined and reflected the purity of the Lord, as radiant as the smile upon her face.
Showing what children raised in affection to become, a finest gift to our humanity,
A true blessing to all who do hear her, like magic, in her wonderful refrains, is she.
Thank you gracious one, in your devotion, well received, your spontaneous generosity,
The message of ten thousand good hearts, your gift accepted, in greatest sincerity.
Our very souls are uplifted by your joyful voice, magnified ten fold by a family's care,
Your upbringing and your singing praises to the Lord, such radiance, we all may share.
