What's Cooking In The Kitchen ?
A Lot More Than Food
As the day begins food preparation for meals has to be done
We plan ahead and take out chicken or hamburgers to defrost
Then with that out of the way
We have still hours to wait
My mind drifts to a more exciting time
Where we can get food off our mind
I can think of something else that creates the same satisfaction
I pull you into my arms
A quick hug and then a kiss
Both our bodies tightly matched
The vibrations of your body rubbed against mine
Sweet kisses that reveal our passion through our lips
Holding hands clasping tightly
Soft sounds of pleasure fill the room
As my wild expectations come into focus
Like a camera zooming in
Your body slides side to side
Looking into your eyes I see
A tenderness
Someone gentle and sweet
Your funny my wife tells me
Not now we have other things to do
As I beg to continue she laughs again
There is more to life than romance
Like what ?
We have to go grocery shopping and stop for gas
A few errands to run
She reminds me is that all you ever think of ?
After a long silence
I remind her
The day is early
Look at the sun shining through our sliding glass window
I take her hand and press it against the smooth glass
Feel the heat
The window charms blowing back and forth in the wind
Making wonderful sounds that tickle our ear drums
Giving her one more kiss
She says not now
There is always later
How quickly you can be distracted
I have so many incredible thoughts racing through my mind
They will have to wait
Let's go
Well a day of passion put on pause
A change of plans wasn't on my list of things to do
One more kiss and then off she goes
Grabbing her coat
I grab mine and as I shake my head
Still confused on what didn't happen ?
We walk out together to get things done
What a switch
As we put on hold more love and more fun
