Whispers (poem)
Once whispers bore your kisses home to me
Each promised morn new hope there born of you
Sweet scents have sworn which winds adorn it’s true
These gifts are clues how happy we can be
-
Each welcome song my heart now dances to
Are moments where each kiss we’d share ran free
Each breath of air a kiss waits there such glee
These whispers which a lover wanders through
-
But now those whispers all have gone away
No telling when or where they’ll reappear
For now there is no need for all their charms
-
A dream more real now calls my soul to stray
And I’ll not miss a grander kiss now near
For now you’re with me here within my arms
