Worse Than Maddening
It was a very dark place,
I could feel the haunt,
there was just no light,
he was gaunt,
and enormous in height,
he even intimidated my shadow,
a desolate sight,
my teeth chattered,
my courage rumbled and clattered,
my emotions splintered and shattered,
as I stared at the image,
listening, waiting,
life and death, debating,
all hope fell to the ground,
and fear was all around,
the words in my throat would choke,
he barely moved his lips,
but he spoke,
the terror blinded me like smoke,
my heart was beating
at such a rapid pace,
as I felt the horror coming from his face,
it was worse than maddening,
and much more,
defying the sweat
which came out of every pore,
the fears, the tears,
my heart deafening in my ears,
suddenly silence,
and he realized,
that life would be compromised.
