Wouldn't It Be Nice
To Just Slip Away
To go somewhere no one has ever gone
Deep in the Amazon
Into space or dig way underground
Far into the ocean deep beneath the surface
To see creatures we have never seen before
To see the way life lives for animals, amphibians or the unknown
Only for a little while then like everything else
We have to return
To our life and continue where we left off
Well it was so nice to leave the world that we see
But it is even nicer to be back to the world that knows me

To Be Ourselves
When we live life in with such passion
There are things we imagine
They are larger than the world that we know
That never stops us
It slows us down and holds us back
We try to bring both our dreams and reality under one roof
There are few people that can help
So we are on our own
Pressed for time we express our true feelings and nature
Giving all we have by writing using the words that we have been taught
Failure and problems line the way
Today is not just another day
It starts with one thought that we carry out
We follow through giving it new life
Seeing the light of day or sitting in the darkness all alone
Our life has grown
Sharing something that is so deep within our nature
We don't always know it's origin or it's intent
Never the less we investigate
Pulling at our emotions
Trying to make perfect sense
For some people there is a right and a wrong
For me there is a cloudy line
Where the unknown is either left by itself or challenged
Now it is far more than we have bargained for
Opening up a past we could not be aware of
Always searching for clues
Following leads that we hope will take us further
Only to realize we have been fooled again
We are back where we started and have done a complete circle
Little did we know
We will try again later
To see if another path will take us where we wanted to go
Have a little patience and keep all your hidden thoughts handy
Because it won't be long before I find what I am looking for
It is never what it seems
Always a different color or in a different place you would never expect
Life is not a closed box to open
It is so much more
More like a thousand pounds and you are given a small envelope
Go ahead you try and make it fit
You can squeeze and shake and pound
With little progress
You can try many times with the same result
After a hundred tries you give up
Then one day
Many years in the future
You have an odd thought
As you pick up this old envelope and take it in your hand
You begin to dream
What if this was no ordinary envelope
One so special and rare
That it had to be held delicately like fine china
Gently like a hot cooked home baked Blueberry muffin
Fresh out of the oven
When you rub it gently on the side
It begins to expand
It grows larger to any size
So all this time you thought there was no way to put a thousand pounds in one envelope
Impossible in the real world
Now you know different
In my world things like this happen every day
Was it practice that made you find a new way
Was it waiting and giving it a rest
Maybe a little of both that gave you the answer you always wanted
So this is how I write
A little at a time
Then sometimes all night
It can not be rushed
Hushed or forgotten
It helps me
Haunts me
When all is said and done
If it is a few hours or days later
These thoughts would of been disappeared if I waited
They are not easily left alone
In time they find a way to vanish
As our day to day life pushes them aside
Now I write them so I don't lose them
I publish them for two reasons
Who would spend hours on something and leave it unfinished
In time your energy and will power will be drained
There will be nothing to keep you going
No excitement to push to see
One interesting story
That will stay hidden in a notebook until it is ready
Truth is it is never ready
In my eyes there is always more
Then again in my mind there are so many things we can't do
At least at this time
Then one day it will all come together
Like bread and butter
They are meant for each other
