How much income can you make by publishing Kindle books?
I've noticed that several hubbers have done this. Is it difficult? Is it like self-publishing? And how are they distributed? Through Amazon? Do you make many sales? Make much money? Yes, I have lots of questions, but it's something I've been wondering about. Thanks for your input.
Haven't done this particular version yet(have self published hard copy and e book), but it is self publishing, and how difficult it is would depend on the system or program you're publishing through
Amazon is one place to distribute through. Dependant on whether you're set on Kindle or are talking ebooks in general, there are other places to publish, including Barnes & Noble and Lulu.com
And how much will you make? It'd depend on a number of things, including the quality of the book, the demand for the topic, other competing books in the field, the price you've set, and how much you publicize it
Hope that's a help
It depends greatly on what your book is like (quality and genre/topic), and also how you promote it. I've just published my first book on the Kindle Store, had 3 sales so far but don't think that's bad as it's only been on for 24 hours!
When browsing the Kindle Publishers forums (http://forums.kindledirectpublishing.com), I read one helpful person who said that promoting their book through social networking, blogs and other sites helped them a lot. They said it was the difference between having money for crisps and paying their rent each month!
So I'd say give it a go, try and build up a following and see what happens.
how do you even create kindle books? but sounds like a cool way to make money if you ask me
The easiest way is to write it in Microsoft Word (or similar package), saved is as a filtered html document and upload to Amazon, and they'll do the conversion. Am intending to write some hubs on the topic in the next few weeks if you're interested.
I have actually published a short story that sold to the Kindle and other stores. I get paid quarterly, if I'm not mistaken, and I made about $92. I went through a publisher mind you, and the story sold for $0.99. So, this was after my publisher's cut and with a Christmas bonus. As for selling your own stuff on its own with no publisher? That I can't tell you. I figure that would be a hit or miss; unless, if you're good at self promoting, it could work. However, you would still want someone to review over it to make sure everything is copacetic and spelled right etc. Hopes this helps!

Not including those of your favourite mainstream authors. How much would you pay for non-fiction?

If there are any professional, published authors here on hubpages (and I'm sure there are tons of you guys) I was wondering if someone could tell me if self-publishing is good or bad, and maybe give a couple of pros and cons. It would be my first book.

Hi guys, If you have written a book(s) and are selling it on Amazon.com, I would like to know what you think of the process? My sister has self-published a book and is a little overwhelmed about how to sell the book on Amazon. Any help will be very appreciated! Thanks

How much is too much to pay for a Kindle book?I buy and read a lot of digital books. One thing that really irks me is when the price of them is similar to or even higher than the physical version. I have also seen new, self-published authors put pretty high prices on their debut novels ($9.99 and...
