As your hub numbers grow, do they help eachother in relation to SEO?

So let's say I write an article on playing the piano, and it gets to however far it gets in the search engine. If I don't touch that original article, yet write 10 more on the same topic (for example), will those 10 improve the SEO of the first, even if they have no direct link? I thought perhaps it would be the case because all hubs are under the one unique subdomain (the hubber's username) and perhaps Google would recognise more relevant content?

Understandably, which is why I write only hubs of a top quality - but if it worked like this it would mean that the more you write the more your traffic escalates. A shame really. Never mind.
