Moons call...A werewolf poem
The beat of my heart fills my ears
as the glowing moon seems to leer
The stars shine an audience bright
As I try to out race the moon filled night
My skin burning yet still I run
Forever looking for the safety of the sun
A cry escapes my lips as I scream
The agony proving it is no dream
My skin splits apart
As the beast claims my heart
Fur and blood fly
A howl replacing my terrified cry
The beat of my heart pounds in my ears
As the beast consumes my tears
The trees move by at incredible speed
As I am filled with bloody need
My true self lost in the thrill
As I hunt consumed with this desire to kill
Bathed in the moons glow
Through the ancient woods I flow
Alive for the first time truly
A predator lethal and deadly
Unable to ignore the enticing sound
Of the animals frantic heart pound
Trapped, held by the claws of my feet
As I feed on the raw bloody meat
No longer fearful of the dark around me
Hearing the nights call full of surreal beauty
I am one with all
As my howl echoes out answering the moons call
