Poems and Poetry: I Recognised The Road Signs

I’ve been down this road before

I even recognized the road signs

But I didn’t take the signs seriously

I’ve been used and discarded before

I knew that I was being sucked in

And there was no way out again

But I still did nothing

So it is my own fault and I really

Shouldn’t be mad at anyone but

Myself

I believe I’ve learnt my lesson

This time because even though

I’m surrounded by people, yet

I feel alone.

Many people I loved had ripped

My heart out and stomped on it.
