Poem: On The Run
by Grace Peterson
Starting up the car,
I see you running towards me.
"Don't leave me,"
you cry.
"I'm not coming back,"
I argue,
"I'm leaving everything behind."
And you can't let me go.
Everyday I'm hiding
behind four invisbile walls.
I want to be free.
Free from everything
and everyone
around me.
Always smiling
Always happy
I can't pretend
like everything is okay.
Not anymore.
I need to get away.
I need to runaway.
