Poems That Tickle My Feet VI--- Food

Food - By Pat Gillem

They say, '' We are what we eat,'' I guess that could be true,
sometimes we don't always eat, whats good for me and you.
Imagine if we looked like hams, our dogs would lick their chops,
and we would be most popular, at all the butcher shops.
If I had to be some kind of food,I would be a vegetable,
That way I wouldn't be eaten, by most of the kids I know.
But if I was a hot dog, I would be happy as can be,
because if I ever get hungry, I can take a bite of me!

Hi D.William - I like all kinds of poetry, even if I don't understand some of it. Humor has always been an important part of my life. So I try passing it on to others.

It is fun to read comical poetry for a change. Mine are all so morose and melancholy.

Hello shea duane. Thank you very much! I am honored that you think that my poem is good enough for reading to your class! I like teaching kids too. I do lectures at some of our local zoos, on different fields of nature. Thanks again!
