Until Then, I Wait....A NiaG Poem
Whispers in my ear of you calling my name
But echoes of your voice just aren’t the same
Phantom touches on my cheek return a smile to my face
Wanting nothing more than to meet at our place
Head upon your shoulder as our footsteps leave traces
The dance is long over with lasting impressions of embraces
Voices of you, I hear, beckoning me to stay
Have gotten lost and have trailed away
Days gone by I want our moments back
Memories take over of what most I lack
Promises of kisses when I return
My heart and soul ‘til then will yearn
Faded smiles from you no longer light my way
To see you again, I can’t wait for the day
