A breakfast delight!
What the heck is Stuffed French Toast? That's what I said the first time we stopped at Jaki's Cafe, now I order it everytime we stop for breakfast. Thick bread, with a dollop of cream cheese and a swish of orange marmalade. Yummy, delicious!!
We discovered Jaki's Cafe in Magalia on our first trip up the mountain. It was breakfast time and we were starved, after unloading all the furniture into our little cabin--I sure didn't want to try and unpack enough tools and dishes to cook and Gary being the great guy he is, drug me out to the car and headed down the road.
Then we say the sign, slowed and pulled into the parking lot. Our hunger pulled us on into the aroma of hot coffee, bacon, eggs....and Stuffed French Toast. You have not tasted french toast until you take a bite of the Balboa french toast. It is stuffed with cream cheese with a hint of orange marmalade, then dusted with powdered sugar. My favorite item on any menu.
Gary always orders an omolet of some kind when we eat breakfast out, and they have a large variety to choose from.
If you are driving by at lunch or dinner time, the menu is filled with many delicious entres from hamburgers to steaks and amazing dishes in between. You will not be disappointed.
Do you like Classic Car shows? Well, Jaki even thought of that and twice each month the Classic Cars begin pulling in and at some point there is usually or perhaps always, music entering the scene. I know that at least part of the time you will hear "Real Country" singing all your favorit Classic Country songs. So come prepared for a great time!
Jaki's is located in Magalia, just above Paradise near the local Donut shop. That is right, Dolly's Donuts is located right next door offering freshly made donuts each day. I will have to write a Hub especially about them. The cinnamon rolls are twice as large as you have ever seen, so be prepared to bring a friend to share--they are much too large for one person!
