Considering installing a window air conditioner into your bedroom or den to help stay cool as the outside temperatures get hotter? The Frigidaire FRA065AT7 mini-compact window air conditioner is smaller in size yet is powerful enough to cool down a room quickly. This unit not only provides cool quiet comfort, it also does so while saving you money. This is because the Frigidaire FRA065AT7 operates at a low voltage, conserving energy and is recommended by Energy Star. The units full function remote compliments its electronic controls to provide you with cool comfort without draining your wallet.

Size

The Frigidaire FRA065AT7 window air conditioner is 18 1/2-inches wide, 13 2/5-inches tall and 18 1/2-inches deep. The size of this unit is slightly smaller than most standard compact units making it perfect for smaller windows. Another factor of the units size is that it is not necessary to add mounting hardware to your unit. Simply insert it into the window, spread the convenient side panels and close the window over the top of the unit. Locking brackets are included to lock the window sashes together to prevent intruders from simply opening the window from the outside.

Coverage Area

This mini-compact unit boasts 6,000 BTUs and makes it perfect for cooling small to medium rooms up to 216-square feet. With a 3-speed fan and eight way directional control, the Frigidaire FRA065AT7 will cool down a room in little time.

Filter Type and Access

This window air conditioner uses a washable antimicrobial filter. The filter helps to reduce room odors, bacteria, dust and other airborne particles providing you with fresh cool comfort. The window air conditioner features a built-in filter reminder. An LED illuminates after 250-hours of operation to indicate it is time to clean the filter. Once you clean the filter, simply press the button to reset and the LED stops illuminating.

Washing the filter is a quick process. Simply turn off the unit and push the vent handle to the “Closed” position. Open the front panel and grasp the center of the filter. Pull it away from the unit. Wash the filter in warm soapy water and squeeze all the excess water out of the filter. Allow the filter to dry thoroughly before reinstalling it in the unit. If necessary, blow dry the filter with a hair dryer.

Features

The Frigidaire FRA065AT7 is not lacking in features. First and foremost is the easy to read and easy to navigate electronic controls on the front center of the unit.

The “Sleep” features raises the temperature by 2-degrees 30 minutes after you select the feature. The unit then turns up the temperature another 2-degrees after an additional 30 minutes passes. The sleep mode temperature is then maintained for 7 hours when it reverts back to the original set comfort temperature.

The Frigidaire FRA065AT7 features a 3-speed fan with 8-way directional control for the air louvers. This enables you to direct the air where you want it.

The unit also features a 24-hour timer so you can set the unit to turn on and off and specified times. There is also a remote control so you can operate most of the functions without having to get up and go to the unit.

One thing about appliances with electronic controls, every time the power goes out you end up having to rest everything. That is not the case with the Frigidaire FRA065AT7. This window air conditioner features an Effortless Restart that automatically resumes operating at its previous settings once the power is restored to the unit.

This air conditioner is Energy Star rated with a 1-year full warranty and 5-year sealed system warranty.

One other feature that is seldom mentioned. This air conditioner comes with a 6-foot long power cord. This gives you more flexibility to install the unit in a window you want rather than simply the closest window to a power outlet.

Consumer Reviews

"In the middle of a major heat wave, I got desperate and installed this Frigidaire 6000BTU in the bedroom so I could get some sleep. I found that it cooled the room to about 72 degrees (100+ and humid outside during a major heat wave) within about 90 minutes. I was so amazed at how much better this works than the other ones that I immediately ..."Read More

As for the performance of the unit, I wanted to get something quiet as the reviews suggested. It's not whisper quiet but not loud either. It's not too noisy where it overpowers the sound system. So in that regard I am satisfied. The remote control was a key feature for me as I didn't want to have to adjust the unit manually. The unit is easy to control via the local interface or the remote. The only annoying thing is ….Read More
