Scentsy Product Review

Updated on February 7, 2018

What exactly is a Scentsy?

A Scentsy is a decorative container that is heated by a 25 watt light bulb. It has a saucer so to speak on the top where you insert the gel-like scents. These scents will be melted and emit an aroma to delight all that experience it. There are hundreds of scents to choose from and I for one admit that I spent at least an hour trying to decide on one.

Where did I first hear about a Scentsy?

Some days I feel as if I live in a bubble. Scentsy products have been around since 2004, yet I'd not heard of them before. Now that I do know about them, I think I'm in love.

One day not that long ago I was having my hair cut at Orillia Unisex Hair, and Tara, the shop owner had a Scentsy warmer burning and on display. I can't recall what scent was burning but I did have to ask about the product. I found out that Tara's friend was selling the product and she was helping her out by having it on display and smelling wonderful.

I looked through the catalog and sniffed all the various scents available. I was hooked, I needed one, I wanted one, I had to have one. Luckily by placing my order through Tara I wouldn't have to pay for shipping and it could be in my possession within two weeks tops. I could just hear my husband in my head .... sure go out for a twenty dollar haircut and it ends up costing the price of a cut and a perm. Who cares I thought ... I need this!

After talking with Tara and Tammy, and discussing the fact that my house smelled like a barnyard due to having two Newfoundland dogs running in and out all day I decided on the Mission Oak. That was the easy part .... trust me.

Next I had to pick out a scent. Tara had this humongous basket full of scents to choose from. As I was going through the various scents I thought of one that was more than like not there, but I had to know.

Patchouli Oil

Ever since I was a teen I've loved the scent of the patchouli flower. If you're unfamiliar with this scent, I call it my hippie day scent, even though I'm dating myself. It was quite popular back in the 70's. I explained the scent to Tara telling her that I could be in a crowd of 200 people and if someone was wearing patchouli oil, ad I got a whiff of it, it would stop me dead in my tracks.

Is this what you're talking about? Tara asks.

I couldn't believe she found it among all the other scents.

Right there and then I placed my order for the Mission Oak warmer and the patchouli scentsy bar.

Not only am I very happy with my purchase but I'd like to order another warmer with a few different scents.

Why a Scentsy?

There are many many different warmers you can purchase for your home, office, as a housewarming gift, shower gift, birthday, or Christmas gift. Personally I know a lot of people that would like one or two of these.

Not only do they make your home smell wonderful and inviting, they look quite attractive as an ornamental piece.

I liked the Mission Oak warmer because it has a woodsy feel to it. Having several wood pieces on display in my living room I think the one I chose was a perfect match to my décor.
