Sofia the First Bedroom

If your little girl is a fan of Disney's Sofia the First she will love to have her own themed Sofia the First Bedroom.

Currently there are only a few official Sofia the First products on the market but to pull off a sophisticated Sofia the First princess theme you will not want every inch of you child's room covered in pictures of the character.

I am excited that Disney has released officially licensed bedding for Sofia the First. Of course, the bedding includes a healthy dose of Sofia's royal color of choice purple and a beautiful graphic of the young Princess herself.

One of the easiest (and the most inexpensive) way introduce a new theme into your child's room is to change out the bedding. It only takes a few minutes and has a big impact as the bed is one of the hugest places to display art in your child's room.

My only complaint about the new bedding is that it does not come in larger sizes like double, queen and king size. My niece sleeps in a double bed so we will have to find other avenues to accommodate Sofia's presence in her room.

Every room needs a focal point. You can create one easily with wall art like a poster or wall decal. For a Sofia the First bedroom you will want to feature art of the sweet and kind Princess Sofia.

There is finally an official Sofia the First Bedding product on the market. The Northwest Company's Disney's Sofia the First blanket allows you to decorate your bed with a picture of your favorite young Disney Princess. This is a great option for introducing your princess theme into your room because it fits your theme as well as being functional. I love the huge graphic used and the choice of a purple background.

If you are looking for a special Sofia the First product but it does not available on the market you can always try to create the look yourself. It is easy to create a Sofia the First inspired table.

All you need is an kids size table. You can recycle an old piece or work with a new unfinished piece. Just make sure the unfinished kids table is prepped first for your project. Paint the table the color you desire then take take a Sofia the First poster and decoupage it to the top of your table. Seal it a few times to create a surface that can be wiped. The result is a Sofia the First table your little one will love.

Whether or not you choose to paint your child's bedroom or not you can make a colorful statement with the color of objects (like bedding and accessories) you choose to add to your room.

Because Princess Sofia's signature dress color is purple and cream I would try to stick with these colors for wall paint, bedding and room accessories.

Iron on patches are easy to use and can be applied to most fabrics. This is an inexpensive way to getting your favorite Sofia the First character or your child's sheets or bedding. Just grab an old pillowcase or a blanket and give it new life by adding an iron transfer to it.
