Breakfast is the key element for your day. You should already be taking a great vitamin to start everyday. Have you heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day-take advantage of it!! Breakfast should be the first thing you eat in the morning to. For breakfast you should eat a balanced meal. Eating a hardy breakfast first thing in the morning is starting your day off on the right foot. Breakfast is key to getting your brain active after a long night of slumber, giving you fuel to burn well on your hike. Eating a bowl of breakfast cereal will not give you enough energy to sustain you till lunch.
After breakfast you will want to take extra snacks along. Taking your own trail mix that you made is a great way to boost your energy. Breakfast bars are wonderful! Before buying any breakfast bars check to see that the first 3 ingrediants on the label is not sugar or you will burn out fast.
With your breakfast you should be taking vitamins. Vitamins give needed nutrition where our food lack, sustains energy and gives alertness needed during the day. Vitamins may give a person enough nutrition needed to prevent certain diseases and disorders which are caused from poor nutrition in your cells. Vitamins are the back bone to good health.
I have compiled a couple of quick breakfast recipes to start your day off right.
This breakfast omelette is packed with nutrition and is very tasty. With the leftover's you can make into a sandwich to take with you for a snack, lunch or dinner.
Breakfast Omellete
1/3 sweet onion 3 teaspoons vegetable oil 8 ounces maple bacon 2 dashes season salt 5 eggs 1/3 cup shredded cheese (jack or colby or mozz. or etc.)
In a frying pan on medium heat, heat oil.
Add onions and season salt to oil and mix for about two or three minutes.
Add in bacon and mix and cook the mixture until bacon is the way you want it.
Add the eggs and cheese last, mixing them in and cooking until the cheese is melted and the eggs are cooked.
Healthy Strawberry Milkshake
1/2 cup frozen straberries 1 cup milk 1/4 cup soft tofu (or use ice cream if you don't want the soy) 1 tablespoon frozen orange juice concentrate 1 tablespoon ground flax seed (optional) 2 teaspoons wheat germ (optional)
Place all ingredients in the blender. Process until smooth and frothy.
Pour into a tall glass, and drink immediately.
