Greatest Lover OF All Time
Greatest Lover of All Time
Passage: I John 4:9-10
"This is how God showed His love among us. He
sent His one and only Son into the world
that we might live through Him. This is love
not that we loved God, but that He loved us
and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for
our sins. We love because He first loved us."
God is always the One who takes the initiative in loving us. Ever since the world began, God has done great and marvelous things for us to express His love for men. The lavishness of creation has proven this. He has created a perfectly beautiful world for man's habitat and filled it with food . The mountains, the oceans, the forests, the rivers, the lakes with all its breathtaking views and abundant resources are all evidences of God's great love for men. But it seems man is not satisfied and impressed by this LOVE, he fell into the trap of the enemy. He give in to his alurements namely the " lust of the eyes", the "lust of the flesh" and the "pride of life".
The things offered by the enemy is more attractive to men rather than what God offered to him. He gave in to his temptations and severed his once once beautiful relationship with GOD. Could GOD afford to loose His precious creation forever, the man he so loved? The man who used to be the joy and the apple of His eyes?
GOD cannot afford to loose His precious creation forever, though it may cost His one and only begotten Son. He still has chosen to save the world rather than let it perish for eternity. Yes, the world that is so rotten and desperately wicked, whom GOD so loved.
So GOD gave His only Son Jesus, to be mocked, to be slaughterd and be despised by the cruel world whom GOD so loved. Yes, it cost the life and blood of the precious Son of GOD. GOD has allowed this to prove once again His undying devotion to men.
Indeed, GOD is the greatest "Lover" of all time. And in His love we are made complete. He alone can love us with an unconditional, endless, and perfect love. For He alone has a perfect heart.
In His Mercy,
